Power & Lighting Panelboards

Custom Panelboards Engineered for Reliable Branch-Circuit and Feeder Distribution

A panelboard divides an incoming power feed into branch circuits, with a circuit breaker or fuse protecting each circuit against overloads and short circuits. Spike Electric builds UL- and NEMA-certified panelboards — from smaller lighting and appliance panelboards to heavy-duty power-distribution panelboards — custom-configured as main-breaker or main-lug, pre-assembled in-house, and available for fast shipping.

Available configurations include main circuit breaker and main-lug-only arrangements, bolt-on branch circuit breakers, copper bus, subfeed provisions, and indoor or outdoor enclosures. UL 67-listed panelboards are available when specified and within the applicable listing scope.

Panelboard Types

Historically panelboards fall into two families — lighting/appliance and power distribution. Select a type below; both share the construction, certifications, and support in the shared sections.

Smaller power-distribution panelboards for commercial and industrial lighting and appliance branch circuits — flexible enough to configure as a main-breaker or main-lug panel and back again.

  • Current rating: 200 A – 800 A (stock availability up to 600 A)
  • Breakers: Bolt-on breakers; multiple-pole circuit arrangements
  • Circuits: 18, 30, and 42 circuits (a lighting panelboard is limited to 42 circuits)
  • Voltage / interrupting: Single-phase 120/240 V up to 22 kAIC; three-phase 120/208 V up to 22 kAIC; three-phase 480 V up to 14 kAIC
  • Configuration: Main breaker or main lug; copper bus/bushing; sub-feed available
  • Enclosure: NEMA 1 and NEMA 3R; standard door options
  • Applications: Warehouses, commercial spaces, and industrial lighting/appliance systems

Panelboards for heavier-duty, larger-scale power distribution. On the current site this family is represented by Spike's explosion-proof / hazardous-location panelboard series:

Construction & Certifications

  • UL- and NEMA-compliant designs
  • Configurable as main-breaker or main-lug; copper bus with sub-feed options
  • Pre-assembled in-house and installation-ready
  • Accelerated / same-day shipping on stock items
  • 1-year warranty from date of ship
