Cole Attaway

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

View Bio

Cole Attaway is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Spike Electric Controls. He founded the company in 2013 with $10,000, a home office, and a rented storage space, and incorporated the company in 2014.

Raised in Houston’s industrial heartland, Cole built Spike through hands-on leadership, a service-first culture, and an uncompromising commitment to engineering and manufacturing excellence. From the beginning, he has helped lead the company’s vision, product development, engineering direction, and long-term growth.

Cole’s role has always extended beyond executive leadership. He has worked closely with customers, engineers, manufacturers, and employees to develop products and systems that solve real-world power infrastructure challenges. His experience spans low- and medium-voltage switchgear, gas-insulated switchgear, advanced manufacturing, automation, and smart-factory development.

Today, Cole leads Spike’s long-term strategy, product innovation, automation, and smart-factory development, with a focus on expanding American manufacturing capacity and strengthening the nation’s electrical infrastructure. His vision is centered on building dependable products, developing capable teams, and continually improving the way Spike serves its customers.

From the company’s earliest days, Cole also believed that people should be given meaningful opportunities to work, grow, take responsibility, and build a better future. That belief helped shape Spike’s second-chance employment philosophy and its commitment to developing people—not only as employees, but as individuals with the ability to contribute and succeed.

Cole founded the company, but he did not build it alone. He credits Spike’s growth to the employees, leaders, customers, and partners who have contributed to the company’s progress over the years. Grounded in faith, humility, and accountability, Cole believes strong companies are built by serving customers exceptionally well, developing people intentionally, and continuously improving the products and systems around them.

“True industry leaders understand that the highest calling is to serve others.”
